{ MOJO } Missing…

Ive lost my sewing mojo… searched high & low – cannot freakin’ find it. I was doing so well too, especially after completing the satisfying V1027 & the BS Frilly & finally finishing the V8601 riding coat. Is it possible I may have overindulged??!!

On the up side, it does mean the Sizzle is getting some action. Just over half way through the back which leaves just the sleeves to be done { HOWEVER } Im not kidding, but it looks like I may not have sufficient yarn {BALLS}. Hmm….I may have to don the Sizzle sans sleeves…

Any ideas on ridding oneself of the indigestion caused from overindulgence ? Im all ears…

{ NEW LOOK 6648 } Version A

Hello again fellow sewers –NewLook_6648

This pattern is one of my favourites. I guess its because its so easy to construct & casual to wear in a rather effortless way.

I purchased this pattern in 2008 but only got around to making something with it in late 2010. Another project completed while the hubster was traveling & I had all day & all night to sew – which I duly did while I watched the snow fall over Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Holland! I never left the house for days & eventually ┬ámy car disappeared under all the snow. Finally the hubster was due home & I realised I had no snow shovel so I used a fold-up plastic crate to scrape the snow off my car in the middle of the night so I could scoot off to rescue the hubster from a disaster flight. { HAPPY DAYS }. Anyway, I digress –

NewLook_6648The pattern is super easy with the most challenging part being the slightly gathered waistband….& this is not difficult by any means. I used a one way stretch knit in a blue-ish purple-tinge and this fabulous paisley burnout pattern in a mustardy-amber kinda colour. I had bought quite a bit of this so I have stacks left over for something else too čÖé There are 4 options to this pattern in terms of the sleeves which can be interchanged with neck options of either cowl, v, wrap or boat!! Sleeve options are either dolman, kimono, butterfly or none! I stuck with Version A which is boat neck with kimono sleeve. I’d love to try version C which is butterfly sleeve with a wrap front & tie over the waistband.NewLook_6648_kimono_sleeve

I personally left out the neck binding & instead folded over & stitched. It does make the boatneck { SLIGHTLY }  larger. If you dont like a boatneck to hang off the one shoulder, be aware of the finished measurement of version A! I like a top that drapes off my shoulder so I was not fussed.

Highly recommended if you looking for a top thats casual but not T-shirt casual.

hello lovelies –

I apologise for being {AWOL} at the moment….I promise I have a valid excuse.

You see, this past saturday we had some great snowfall so the hubster & I decided to go bob-sledding & Im sure you can now imagine where Im going with this???!!!

Yes, I ended up in the ER with a fractured ankle & they operated at 10pm to place a titanium plate & pins to stabilise my ankle. See, I told you I had a valid explanation.

So, I was discharged today armed with a temporary cast & crutches which Im proving hideous with. I had to promise the surgeon {with puppy eyes} that I would stay in bed for the next couple of days otherwise he wouldnt have let me go!  Honouring my promise so the next couple of days I will be focusing on aleviating the swelling so hopefully I can get my more permanent cast {required for 6 WEEKS} on Thursday.

WOW….yeah, im still in shock too i tell ya.

Anyway, I just wanted to let all you lovelies know where I was & that I’ll be seeing you again soon. Take care & thanks for stopping by x

{White Wonderland}

This morning we woke up to the first {REAL} winter wonderland of the season. We have big windows in most of our rooms so I immediately lifted all the blinds to invite the wonderland in. I havent been able to take my eyes off of the outdoors all day! I love it when it snows. There is something so peaceful about the snow and since Im a sucker for all things {WHITE}, it pleases me to see everything so clean & fresh looking.

This afternoon I headed out for a photo op but I didn’t last long. Not only did I underestimate how cold it was but I wore no socks inside of inappropriate boots which resulted in a {FAILED} photo op. Urrgh! Luckily for me, more snow expected tomorrow. {YAY}.

Thanks for stopping by x

{Festive Fun}

We have had some friends visiting for the past 2 days…& what a lot of fun it has been. There is something quite wonderful about meeting up with friends you have not seen in more than a year & feeling like no time has passed at all.

2 pics sum up our festive season thus far…

Wishing you a wonderful, safe festive season wherever you may be. x
